First, we will do a debrief of our last event so everyone's attendance is important. Hi Everyone,

Today's meeting was hosted by Jen Collins from Oddbodd. She gave us a valuable overview of her business and how as business owners we all have potential for more growth by being connected to social media sites and online google searches. For more information you can contact Jen at www.oddbodd.com.

We had a guest, and potential member, Michelle Kelso, who is a life coach focusing on women and mothers. We look forward to learning more from Michelle at our next meeting.

We also discussed how to attract specific professions to our group. We came up with an initial list and are welcoming all of you to let us know which professions would be a benefit to the group and potentially to your individual businesses. Hi Everyone,

What an incredible beginning to a new year. Happy New Year, to those who are celebrating this week! Our last meeting was hosted by Susan Fireside...thanks Susan! We signed new applications and contracts for the new year and reviewed many of our new guidelines. Last week, several of us attended the Make It Better: North Shore Night of Clubbing and we were very pleased to see Mom4Profit represented. It was a fun evening. We also, with a huge applause to Susan Fireside, managed to send out an Ad for Mom4Profit to Make It Better. This ad will be featured in their new magazine Better, set to launch in October. A banner ad will also be shown on their online version. Thanks for everyone who participated!

He led a powerful mini-workshop on our "story", both personal and professional and then spearheaded a discussion about Mom4Profit's "story"; where we are and where we want to go as an organization. Everyone signed up for revamped committees that included: Contribution, Sponsorship, Culture/Development, Membership, PR, Legal, Tracking, Events & Chapters. We had a full house this month! Thank you everyone for attending.

New Members Welcome: Laurie Levitt-Soben Studios & Cathy Wolfson-Catnip Productions
Erin Krex, First Class Care, shared more details about her domestic placement agency.
Each member took a few minutes to share their target market and how the network can help them improve their business.
The Economic Stimulus Plan was reviewed and members were able to share their offers.
Members were reminded to sign up for a committee. Members were encouraged to take proactive roles and ownership in the "business" of Mom4Profit.
Riv, Natalie & Rachel introduced an idea of having a spring Health & Wellness event for women. This event would give interested members 20-30 minute slots to talk about their businesses and give value/information to the guests. All members were encouraged to participate to introduce Mom4Profit to the public in a fun, motivational and informative 3-hr event. Everyone is asked to help with organizing event including finding a location, working on invites, "goody bags", refreshments, etc.
Next meeting to be hosted by Lilya Sirazi, interior designer. More information to follow.

Here are highlights of our last meeting which was hosted by Rachel Rosenberg, Arbonne consultant.

1. Welcome new members: Irina Ratner - Muralist Artist, Interiors by Irina, Dena Levy, Levy Law Solutions & Helen Plavnik, FemaCare Obstetrics & Gynecology.

2. Members reviewed decision to stay with current, updated blog and some were given more detailed instructions. Members told to use blog for main communication and mom4profit@comcast.net for emails only to Natalie and Riv.

3. Members given Economic Stimulus Spreadsheet and told to choose at least one member's offer/discount before the March meeting.

4. Natalie and Riv expressed need to create committees to handle Mom4Profit growing needs, including legal, website, referral/stimulus tracking, membership, promo, PR/Media. Members need to contact Riv or Natalie at mom4profit@comcast.net with their choice asap.

5. Rachel Rosenberg ended the meeting with a short introduction/review of Health & Welllness, particularly for women and the products they use. She also introduced the 80/20 Rule for business, that shows how most of our income (80%) comes from 20% of our clientelle.

6. Our next meeting will be held on March 3rd, and will be hosted by Erin Krex.

1. Natalie and Riv welcomed all the new and returning guests.

2. Elevator Speeches were practiced and fine-tuned with the help of the group.

3. Riv discussed the importance of logging on to the blog and demonstrated how to do so on her computer.

4. Group discussed “Economic Stimulus Plan” and voted to have it posted on the blog.

5. Miriam suggested having a directory of professionals for easy access. Discussed the need for each member to recruit other members in order to grow our network.

6. Passed out referrals and reminded everyone of the need to provide at least one referral per monthly meeting.

7. Group discussed ideas of getting professional Business Card Holders so members can have other members’ cards conveniently located in one spot. All members agreed they would be willing to pay for one.

8. Passed out business cards.

9. Discussed future meetings and the expectation that each member would be responsible for planning for a meeting including location and agenda.

There is an adjacent coffee lounge where anyone is welcome to grab a coffee, tea or hot chocolate while we meet up. Lets start with a quick tour and then head up to the conference room with me, Deborah Michael, Founder and Director, Occupational Therapist, and Mother of 5.

Please bring your top three or four core values to discuss. These should be values that are also your personal values and never change, even if your market changes. They are the “glue” that keeps your employees, your team, yourself together. Focusing on these will help you build a team, network, and “sell” yourself and your company. At North Shore Pediatric Therapy they are:

First Meeting Notes, 11.17.2008

Our first Mom4Profit meeting was a success! Thank you to everyone who attended. The following are notes from the meeting including information about next month's meeting.

1. Natalie welcomed the group and explained how Mom4Profit began, the inspiration and vision.

2. Everyone took turns giving their 30 sec. Elevator Speech/"who I am, the service I offer, what makes my business/service unique"

3. Qualifications and guidelines were discussed (follow original welcome email).

4. The group shared what makes Mom4Profit unique, including supporting balance of family and career, babysitting opportunity during meetings, and schedule flexibility.

5. Group discussed www.mom4profitnetworking.blogspot.com and said it should be the main source of communication and information sharing outside of direct emails (vs. Facebook). Although Facebook will still be available and monitored by Natalie for those interested.

7. Business Cards were given to each member. A suggestion was made to carry a Mom4Profit personalized business card holder to be available for referrals.

8. Different forms of marketing were discussed including links to everyone's websites through blog, links to relevant websites on own website.

9. For every meeting, members must bring at least one client referral for another group member as well as marketing ideas, resources, etc. to share with the group. Members will take turns each month going into depth about their services/product and leading the group following a set format.

10. Opportunity to invite speakers, people of interest to meetings.

11. Future meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month at 11:30am.

12. Next meeting location will be determined and led by Natalie and Riv to set the format for future meetings. A separate email will be sent confirming location and agenda.

Mom4Profit is Here!

Networking for women who are serious about their careers!

The network for women, of any age, who are trying to balance motherhood and career offers moral support for moms by moms in an open, supportive, creative and fun environment. We'll meet at monthly meetings that respect your family commitments. And it's free!

Qualifications

There will only be one (1) person per profession, i.e., only one accountant, graphic designer, etc. in our group.
You must attend all meetings (exceptions will be made case by case)
You must have a legitimate business that has been operating for at least one (1) year with an excellent reputation.
While membership is for Moms only, networking opportunities and leads will be for both male and female clients, professionals and non-professionals, depending on your business.
New membership will be voted on by founding members. Others will be able to have voting privileges after one year of good standing in group.
